Model Overview
The Range Rover is Land Rover's most prestigious offering, a luxury sport utility vehicle with a long history of quality craftsmanship and legendary "go anywhere" off-road prowess.
The five-passenger Range Rover is available in six variants: 3.0L V6 Supercharged, 3.0L V6 Turbocharged Diesel Td6, 3.0L V6 Supercharged HSE, 3.0L V6 Turbocharged Diesel HSE Td6, 5.0L V8 Supercharged and 5.0L V8 Supercharged Autobiography. Power is supplied by either a 340-hp 3.0-liter supercharged V6 (380-hp in HSE variant), an all-new 254-hp 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 diesel (Td6) engine or a 510-hp 5.0-liter supercharged V8; all engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with manual mode and paddle shifters. Full-time four-wheel drive with Land Rover's acclaimed "Terrain Response" system and an electronic air suspension help tackle a wide range of off-road conditions, while a new All Terrain Progress Control system provides an off-road crawl mode (set using cruise control). Trim-dependent standard equipment includes: a hands-free power tailgate with gesture operation, 19-/20-/21-inch aluminum wheels, sliding panoramic roof, fog lights, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, Xenon headlights, passive entry/start, heated leather front/rear seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, HD/satellite radio, voice-activated hard drive-based navigation, and an 8-inch touchscreen LCD display; Land Rover's proprietary InControl Apps, featuring smartphone integration, is now standard for 2016. Safety features include anti-lock brakes with brake assist, electronic stability control with traction control and roll mitigation, and front/rear park assist, as well as six airbags.
The Land Rover Range Rover gets several enhancements for 2016. Most notably, the Td6 diesel engine debuts, along with All Terrain Progress Control and a hands-free tailgate. Additionally, the Supercharged V6 engine in the HSE gets a boost to 380 horsepower.
