The five-passenger Tucson is offered in both front- and all-wheel drive configurations. Power is supplied by either a 164-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, or a 175-hp 1.6-liter turbocharged four cylinder, mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT). Trim-dependent standard equipment includes: a power liftgate, 19-inch aluminum wheels, LED headlights, front fog lamps, passive entry/start, heated front seats, leather upholstery and dual-zone automatic climate control, along with satellite radio, Bluetooth wireless phone/audio streaming, USB port, smartphone integration, voice-activated navigation and an 8-inch touchscreen display. Safety features found on every Tucson include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, electronic stability/traction control systems and a rearview camera, as well as six airbags. Other available driver-assist technologies include a Blind Spot Detection System, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning System and Automatic Emergency Braking.
Redesigned last year, the Hyundai Tucson carries over with minimal changes for 2017. Most notably, Infinity-branded premium audio and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration are now offered.
