The Lancer is available in five variants: ES and GT (FWD), and ES, SE and SEL with All Wheel Control (AWC). Power is provided by either a 148-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, or a 168-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine; available transmissions include a five-speed manual and a revised continuously variable transmission (CVT). Trim-dependent standard equipment includes: 16- and 18-inch aluminum wheels, power sunroof, fog lights, heated front seats, leather upholstery, automatic climate control, 6.1-inch touch panel display audio unit with satellite/HD radio, Bluetooth wireless connectivity and a FAST-key passive entry system, as well as Mitsubishi's FUSE hands-free communication system, including voice-activated audio streaming, smartphone integration and a USB port. Standard safety features on every Lancer include stability and traction control systems, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes with brake assist, a rearview camera (all but ES) and seven airbags.
The Mitsubishi Lancer is refreshed for 2016. Exterior and interior styling is revised, while standard equipment levels are enhanced, including standard fog lights and LED daytime running lights for all trims. Additionally, a new CVT8 transmission with increased performance and efficiency replaces the previous model year continuously variable transmission.
